This ongoing effort is proceeding geographically through MDIFW's Regions. Updated polygons may be identified by the Notes field.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>MDIFW Region A (southern/western Maine): completed and published June 13, 2016. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>MDIFW Region B (western/mid-coast Maine): completed and published Dec 15, 2017. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>MDIFW Regions C (downeast), F (northeastern Maine): in progress. Updated polygons are published quarterly.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF UNORGANIZED TOWNS AND UPDATES IN ORGANIZED TOWNS: Boundaries and ratings of all pre-2008 polygons in Maine's unorganized townships are being updated. This effort is part of the field assessment process described above and is proceeding geographically by MDIFW Region. The updates focus on polygons with an IWWH_ID prefixed with "UMO" or "IFW", which indicates pre-2008 mapping. It also includes polygons with a score of 9 or 10 (near the minimum Moderate value threshhold) as described above. Updates are based on interpretation of recent, high-resolution aerial imagery and, when needed, a field assessment. These updates are published quarterly.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>

Only polygons with a high or moderate rating qualify under NRPA. Only polygons that qualify under NRPA and have a wetland size of at least 10 acres qualify under shoreland zoning.
